Saving Lives through Walking!
Prince William County, VA—On a brisk morning on the first day of May, hundreds of individuals gathered at the Loy E. Harris Pavilion, in Manassas, VA, to exercise.
But, this was not any regular gathering, rather, yet, a four-mile walk to raise money to help fund research and projects that will help improve the lives of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality; March for Dimes, March for Babies.
On this day, 11 men of the Omicron Zeta Sigma chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, took part in this annual event. They ran and walked, laughed and sang, as they trekked the four-mile course to the finish line. As a total group effort the chapter raised $1,810. |
